About Periyar
Periyar tiger Reserve, Thekkady, is an illustration of nature’s reward, with great picturesque charm, loaded bio diversity and providing genuine satisfaction to the visitor. Spread over an area of 777 Sq .km. Periyar is one of the 27 tiger reserves in India. Though it’s a Tiger Reserve, tourists come here to view the Indian elephants in the act of mischievousness by the Periyar Lake.

The best season to visit Periyar wildlife sanctuary is from the months of October and June.
